PhotoInPress BookDesigner is intended for users wanting to create their own photo books. This application has a beautiful easy-to-use interface in which the whole process is organized as a series of steps. First, you will need to select the pictures you want to include in your photo books by dragging them to the ribbon below. Then, you can edit your book in a WYSIWYG mode, by dragging photos to the different pages. You can edit these pictures right from their pages, changing their zoom level and position and adding text. Additionally, you can also add borders and such adornments as photo deco, name deco and ABC Deco. As the next step, you will be previewing your book.
PhotoInPress BookDesigner is a free application. However, it is actually part of a larger photo-book creation process. In this respect, the final step will be to order your book to PhotoInPress. This can be easily done by providing your e-mail address while the program automatically uploads your project to the company’s servers. After this, you will need to complete your order by specifying quantity, color and shipping address as well as payment method.
The main limitation of this program is related to sharing the results of your work. Obviously, this program encourages using the developer’s services to print the books; that is why, it only supports exporting or saving your projects in its proprietary format. Although there is an option to e-mail the book as PDF, it will have a very low resolution and many of the features will be lost; and it does not allow you to use your own printer either.
In general, PhotoInPress BookDesigner is an excellent application. However, if you are looking for a program to create your own photo books and print them at home, you had better keep searching because I am sure there will be some other applications to meet your needs.
